Motor Vehicle Bill has lapsed twice in last 7 years | India News

NEW DELHI: The triple talaq Bill, stuck in the Rajya Sabha, will soon lapse. The opposition parties had been against the bill, which makes the practice a penal offence and also has provision of a jail term for a man for divorcing his wife. The government had promulgated the ordinance on this twice.

To allay fears of its misuse, the government had included safeguards, including the provision of bail for the accused before trial. The Motor Vehicle Amendment Bill has lapsed twice in the the past seven years. The government had announced to bring the law soon after the death of Union minister Gopinath Munde in an accident in 2014.
