Union minister Anantkumar Hegde may be happy about his margin of 4,79,649 votes at Uttara Kannada. But his Lok Sabha segment received over 16,017 NOTA votes, i.e. 1.39% against the 11,53,480 valid votes polled votes, which is the highest in the state. It should be noted that Uttara Kannada had registered 16,277 NOTA votes in 2014 which was also the highest in Karnataka during that election.
