Agumbe, once wettest place, stares at severe water crisis

Agumbe – described as Cherrapunjee of South India because of its high rainfall – is looking at a severe water crisis, and its parched people have petitioned the administration to supply water through tankers. Till recently, the wettest place in Karnataka, Agumbe that receives an average rainfall of 7,620mm – hasn’t had a good spell of rain in the recent months.
