Beijing objected to some Tibetans and villagers celebrating the Dalai Lama’s birthday in the Demchok sector close to the Line of Actual Control (LAC) last week. The incident took place when the Tibetans and residents gathered near Kuyul village in Fukche area on July 6, the day the Dalai Lama turned 84. The Indian Army however, denied reports that said People’s Liberation Army soldiers had crossed across the LAC and “planted” Chinese flags on Indian territory.
