Los Angeles Chargers Week 2 had a long week after Thursday night play, but 10 days may not be enough for Justin Herbert to recover.
Herbert suffered a fracture in his rib cartilage in loss to the Chargers Kansas City Chiefs Last week.
The third-year QB has been listed as doubtful for Sunday after not practicing on Friday. He was confined in each of the last two days.
Although, Herbert said plan For him to go through a warm-up before the game, and a decision will be made based on his pregame workouts.
Herbert says her ribs look good When he throws, but “that decision will be made on Sunday.”
“It’s a decision we have a few days left to make. We don’t play today, and so we play on Sundays,” he said via Pro Football Talk.
Head coach Brandon Staley echoed Herbert’s words.
“It’s day by day. We’re going to make progress over the next few days and see how it goes,” The head coach of the second year said,
Chase Daniels ran with the first team in Friday’s practice, and he will start in Herbert’s absence.
“Whatever the plan, I know our team is going to be ready and do everything we can,” Herbert said.
Wide receiver Keenan Allen (hamstrings) is also suspicious Following out of last week’s competition, while center Corey Linsley (knee) and cornerback Jesse Jackson are suspects.
