Covid infections rise in England and Wales



London: The number of people infected with Kovid-19 has increased in India. England And Wales For the first time in two months, official figures were revealed on Friday.
The results are based on the data for the week ending September 14 which has been sourced from the Office of National Statistics, Govt.ons,
Based on its data, the ONS estimated the number of people who tested positive in England was 766,500 – roughly one in 70 people – and in Wales 39,700, or one in 75.
Last week’s survey found the infection rate was one in 75 in England and one in 110 in Wales.
These two UK countries last saw week-on-week growth in the week ending July 6, according to a long-running survey omicron BA.4 and BA.5 variants.
At the same time, figures for Scotland and Northern Ireland went down.
The results come from a survey in which a random sample of the population is swabbed – whether they have symptoms or not.
Those tested do not include people living in care homes.
The researchers then use these results to estimate how much of the total population is currently infected.
Two Omicron subvariants, BA.4 and B.A5, have partially driven a wave of new cases of the disease in Europe and the United States.
