Tiffany Haddish, Aries Spears Child Sex Abuse Lawsuit Dropped, Accusers Say They’ve ‘Put This Behind Us’

A woman and her younger brother who filed a lawsuit Earlier this month against Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears, who accused the comedy duo of forcing them to make sexually-themed skit videos when they were minors, dropped the civil suit on Tuesday, saying the family had ” put this behind us”.

The “Jane Doe,” who represented herself in the federal civil case, filed a dismissal with prejudice on Tuesday — meaning the lawsuit cannot be refiled. The filing included a statement from the plaintiff, TMZ reportedthey were:

“My family and I have known Tiffany Haddish for many years – and we now know that she would never harm me or my brother or help anyone else to do anything that could harm us. We wish Tiffany all the best and are glad we can put this all behind us.”

the lawsuit, submitted on August 30th accused Haddish and Spears in federal court in California of arranging for the children, aged 14 and 7 at the time of the 2013 incident, to be paid through their mother – a comedy friend of Haddish’s – to appear in promotional videos.

But the videos (which have been seen and documented by the Daily Beast) turned out to be sexually themed. In one, the girl was asked to perform a lewd act with a sandwich; in the other, filmed months later, the boy was portrayed as the object of a pedophile’s obsession, with Haddish playing the boy’s mother and Spears playing the “pedophile”.

Haddish said she later regrets to be part of the latter sketch.

A lawyer for Haddish told TheWrap after the lawsuit was filed that the children’s mother had tried to blackmail the comedian for years, calling the claims “false” and a “shakedown”. Newly listed lawyers for the comedians did not immediately respond to requests for comment on Tuesday.

Spears also later said that the lawsuit was an attempt at extortion and a shake off.
